SATO S84NX / S86NX Industrial Print Engine overview
The S84NX and S86NX are SATO's flagship thermal print engines, designed to be built into automated labelling equipment in demanding industrial environments. The S84NX has a 104 mm print width and the S86NX a 167.5 mm width; both come in direct thermal/thermal transfer and direct-thermal-only versions.
The S84NX prints at up to 16 ips at 203 dpi and also offers 305 and 609 dpi heads, while the S86NX offers 203 and 305 dpi. Strengthened hinges, aluminium extrusions and a universal gearbox add robustness, and the print head can be replaced without tools.
A 3.5-inch colour display with instruction videos, auto-detected emulations, PDF direct printing and SATO AEP support PC-less integration. UHF RFID is available as an option (in Europe the S84NX uses a dual-antenna and the S86NX a single-antenna configuration).
