SATO WS4 Desktop Barcode Printer overview
The WS4 series is SATO's general-purpose 4-inch desktop printer, sold in direct thermal and thermal transfer models. The current WS4-2 generation (WS408-2 at 203 dpi and WS412-2 at 305 dpi) is described by SATO Europe as faster than the earlier WS4.
The printer has a wide-opening cover, simple label setting with auto-calibration, an adjustable I-mark sensor and accepts face-in or face-out media. Thermal transfer models take ribbons up to 300 m, reducing ribbon changes.
Five printer languages are included as standard, and USB, LAN and serial connectivity are joined by optional Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. SATO lists it as Cerner validated, and it is widely used in healthcare, retail and logistics labelling.
