The RS5100 is a lightweight wearable scanner that mounts on the finger, back of the hand or a lanyard trigger, leaving both hands free to handle parcels and goods. It weighs 70 g and uses a 1280 x 960 megapixel sensor, with SE4710 and SE4770/SR560 engine options, to read 1D and 2D barcodes and OCR-A/B.
It pairs over Bluetooth (v4.0 or v5.2 depending on model) with smartphones, tablets, PCs and Zebra mobile computers, and NFC supports tap-to-pair. The standard 480 mAh battery is rated for about 12 hours and 14,400 scans, and an extended 735 mAh battery suits longer shifts and cold areas.
The scanner is sealed to IP65 and withstands 1.8 m drops. Zebra lists warehouse picking, sorting and packing, logistics loading and receiving, manufacturing, retail click and collect, and field service as typical uses.
