Zebra DS4608 Corded 1D/2D Handheld Imager overview
The DS4608 is a step up from entry-level imagers, with a higher-resolution 1280 x 800 sensor that reads 1D and 2D barcodes, DotCode and dotted Data Matrix, plus OCR-A, OCR-B, MICR and US currency. It can read UPC codes from up to 71 cm away in the standard-range configuration.
The scanner supports USB, RS232, keyboard wedge and IBM 46XX interfaces, is sealed to IP52, survives 1.8 m drops and 2,000 tumbles, and is covered by a five-year warranty.
Zebra positions the DS4608 for retail checkout, mobile coupons and loyalty, driver's licence parsing for age verification, auxiliary scanning alongside bioptic scanners, Checkpoint EAS, receiving and inventory, and event ticketing.
