Width decides how much text fits and how the label sits in a seam. MYNDS nylon taffeta and satin rolls cover widths from 15 mm to 100 mm, on 200 m rolls with ultrasonic-cut edges.
Start from the content
List everything the label must carry, such as care symbols, fibre content, size and country of origin. Then choose the narrowest width that stays readable.
Check your printer
Confirm the printer's maximum media width, and choose a ribbon at least as wide as the label.
Why edges matter
Ultrasonic-cut edges help prevent fraying, which matters on a label that sits against the skin.
A quick way to size the label
- Write out the full label text, including the longest size and fibre content.
- Print it at your smallest readable size, and measure the block.
- Add room for the seam or fold, which is not printable.
- Pick the nearest standard width, and test it sewn into a garment.
Thinking about roll length
MYNDS rolls are 200 m long, so the number of labels depends on your label length. Divide the roll length by one label’s length, including any gap, to estimate the yield for costing. Then check that your printer can hold the roll.
Checks before ordering
- Does the printer sense continuous material correctly?
- Do you need a cutter for separate labels?
- Is the ribbon width equal to or wider than the label?
