Zebra RFD40 UHF RFID Standard Sled overview
The RFD40 Standard Sled attaches to a Zebra mobile computer to add UHF RFID reading, so staff can count stock and locate items without a dedicated RFID handheld. It reads more than 1,300 tags per second with a nominal read range of 12 m and supports EPC Class 1 Gen 2, EPC Gen2 V2 and Gen2X.
It connects through Zebra's eConnex 8-pin connector, a USB-C cable or a USB cable cup, and works with eConnex-enabled devices such as the TC21/TC26, EC50/EC55 and later models, other Zebra mobile computers and tablets, and Windows PCs. A 7000 mAh quick-release PowerPrecision+ battery powers the sled.
The RFD40 is IP54 rated and survives 1.5 m drops. Zebra lists retail cycle counting, item finding, BOPIS and back-of-store tasks, hospitality inventory and healthcare specimen, patient and asset tracking among its uses.
