Care labels sit against the skin and go through every wash, so the material matters as much as the print. Most garment makers choose between nylon taffeta and satin.
When taffeta suits
Nylon taffeta is a common choice for wash-care, size and composition labels on everyday garments and uniforms. MYNDS nylon taffeta comes in white and black.
When satin suits
Satin has a softer, more premium look, which suits brands that want the label to feel part of the garment. MYNDS offers polyester satin and coated satin.
Test before you commit
Print samples with your printer and ribbon, sew them into a garment, and run your usual wash. That shows more than any specification sheet.
Side-by-side comparison
| Nylon taffeta | Satin | |
|---|---|---|
| Look | Plain and practical | Softer and more premium |
| Common use | Wash-care, size and composition labels | Brand-led garments and size labels |
| Ask yourself | Will it survive my care process? | Does the feel suit the garment? |
What to prepare for a trial
- Your label artwork, with its smallest text and care symbols.
- The printer you will use, with its maximum print width.
- A washcare ribbon, as a standard wax ribbon is not designed for this work.
- The real care instructions, and your own wash or dry-clean process.
