Datalogic Magellan 9600i In-Counter Barcode Scanner overview
The Magellan 9600i is an in-counter scanner for assisted and self-checkout. Its AI-enabled variant runs Datalogic's Smart Vision Suite on the device, offering produce recognition plus detection of mis-scans, label switching and stacked items. Two colour cameras, one in the platter and one in the vertical bonnet, feed a built-in Tensor Processing Unit and neural processor.
A PoE switch connects up to five cameras or accessories, and an SDK and API set let developers link services into POS and self-checkout systems. The barcode-only base model reads 2D codes up to 50% faster than legacy models through QuadVision multicore processing. It is GS1 2D Digital Link and Digimarc ready, drops into layouts built for the Magellan 9300 or 9400, and includes ScaleSentry, ScanSentry and EAS interlock.
