The Magellan 9900i centres on six-sided scanning, with a Top-Down Reader that reads every surface of an item without reorientation. Its low-profile bonnet improves product visibility and ADA accessibility, and an optional Customer-Facing Reader handles loyalty cards and coupons. Base models read 2D codes up to 50% faster than legacy units and are ready for GS1 2D Digital Link and Digimarc.

The AI-enabled variant places one colour camera in the platter and one in the Top-Down Reader, with a Tensor Processing Unit for on-device loss prevention. Those functions include produce recognition and checks for mis-scans, label switching and stacked items. Buyers can choose ScaleSentry, ScanSentry and EAS interlock, or AI-assisted models. A PoE switch supports up to five cameras or accessories.
